Homecoming Festival. 

Crossmolina festival would like to thank everyone that helped make the Homecoming Festival a success, from everyone that helped in any way, those that took part, the sponsors and all that supported the various events. We hope that there was something for everyone and all ages enjoyed the five days. We would like to wish the Crossmolina Agricultural Show the best of luck as they host their 64th show next Saturday, this is always a great family day out so please support your local show. Well done to some of the winners in this years festival, Lucy Lavin who owned the winning Pig at the races, Michael Lynn and daughter Rachel who won the James Hogan Memorial Jiving Competition, Shauna O'Boyle who was the winner of the 2018 Singing Pubs Competition and the winners in the Junior Fishing Competition included Niall Coggins, Michael Monaghan, Luke Browne, Éanna O'Boyle, Luke Carson, Ethan Reilly, Declan Moran, Matthew Monaghan and James Loftus.

 

Lotto Results.

There was no winner of the Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club Lotto Jackpot on Saturday night 21st July. The numbers were 20 – 24 – 26 – 32 three Punters matched three numbers Declan and Laura Mulligan Richmond Castlehill Ballina, John Scullian Abbeytown Crossmolina Kieran Mockler 143 Rosemount Thurles Co Tipperary each won €50. Wedding Bells.

Congratulation to Donna McDonnell Ballyvicmaha Castlehill and Colin Gibbons Islandeady Castlebar who were married in St Tiernans Church with reception in The Broadheavan Bay Hotel Belmullet. They are wished many years of good health and happiness from their many friends.

 

Died in Ballina

The death occurred peacefully on Friday 20th July at her residence of Mary Browne nee Foley The Moorings Ballina and formerly of Barrett St and St Patricks Avenue Crossmolina. Her remains reposed at McGowans Funeral home Ballina on Sunday evening with removal to St Patricks Church Ballina. Requiem Mass on Monday with burial afterwards in Leigue Cemetery. Mary is survived by her husband Val, son Vincent, daughters Teresa and Caroline, grandson Jamie, parents, Evelyn and Brendan, brothers Michael Ballina, Martin Ballina, Tiernan U K, Brendan Crossmolina, Declan Ballina, Sisters Elizabeth Crossmolina, Ann Cardon Crossmolina, Edel Ballina, Loretta Dublin  and Bernadette Ballina, in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces relations friends and neighbours. May she rest in peace.

Cash for Clobber at Ballina Family Resource Centre

If you are clearing out your home please drop the clothes, shoes, bags etc into the Ballina Family Resource Centre, Abbey Street, Ardnaree. We are doing a Cash for Clobber as a Fundraiser for the Centre, your support would be greatly appreciated.  If you need bags we have some in the centre, just drop in and collect them. Cancer Support Organisation

Mayo Cancer Support (Rock Rose House) operate a free counselling/therapy service every Tuesday from the Ballina Family Resource centre.  Ring Jean on 0872804164 to book an appointment.

 

Dementia Dance Club

Community Action on Dementia is a FREE dance club for people living with dementia and their families/carers being run in the Ballina Family Resource Centre every Thursday from 2.30pm to 4.00 pm.  Light refreshments served.  Ring Francis on 0868366312 for more info. 

 

The Late Edward Gillispie

The death occurred peacefully on Friday 20th July at his residence of Edward Gillispie Fiddaune Keenagh. His remains reposed at Hineys Funeral Home on Saturday evening with removal to the Church of the Holy Souls, Keenagh. Requiem Mass on Sunday with burial afterwards in Kilmurray Cemetery. Edward was predeceased by his wife Teresa, deeply mourned by his loving family son Noel Galway, Gerard Glenhest and daughter Rita Crossmolina, brother Michael Crossmolina and sister Bridgie Murray Shramore Newport, sisters in law Annie Chambers and Mary Marley and brother in law Martin London, daughters in law Una and Marguerite and grandchildren Hugo, Lennox, Darragh and Andy, nieces and nephews, neighbours, many friends and work Collegue. May he rest in peace. 

 

BBQ In Maughans

Western Alzheimer's are having there 5th annual charity BBQ in Maughan's pub, Crossmolina this Sunday evening the 5th August. Music is by Irishize. Admissions is just €10 and kids are free. Raffle on the night. Please support this worthy cause

 

The Late Michael Hopkins

The death occurred peacefully at on Friday 20th July of Michael Hopkins Eskeragh Bellacorick. His remains reposed at Hineys funeral home on Saturday evening with removal to the Church of Our Lady of Mercy, Eskeragh requiem mass on Sunday morning with burial afterwards in Crossmolina Cemetery. Michael was predeceased by his brother Tony, sisters Sr Secoure, Sr Mary Annette, Madeline Collins Waterford and Bernie Hopkins, Nieces, nephews, relations, extended family, friends and neighbours. May he rest in peace 

 

Ladies Night - Thank You

Division 4 League

Knockmore ran out comfortable winner over Crossmolina the county Senior League Division 4 at Josephs Park last Saturday week. The sides were evenly matched in the opening half but the hosts took control in the second half and were deserving 2-16 to 0-11 winners in the end. Crossmolina team and scorers  P.
