Crossmolina suffered a heavy defeat in the end in the end of this County Division 4 league tie in Ballintubber despite being well in contention at the break. Ballintubber dominated the second half and ran out easy winners by 5-15 to 3-7

This was a game Crossmolina dominated for three quarters of the contest before Ballinrobe struck a purple patch in the fourth quarter scoring four goals to take the lead. It then the hosts showed great resilience and will to win with Oisin Deane Luke Maloney Kobe McDonald Dylan Flynn and Ronan Connor all contributed to score board in frantic finish which ended with Crossmolina winning by two points 6-16 to 7-11

Kilmurray Soccer Camp

Kilmurry Youths are hosting the Sports Direct FAI Summer Soccer School in Kilmurry Community Field from Monday July 2nd to Friday July 6th .The camp is open to boys and girls from 6 to 14 years of age . Homecoming Festival  

The Crossmolina Summer Family Fun brochure is now available in all local shops etc. The brochure has all the details on the many family activities taking place in Crossmolina during July & August. The festival will hold a fund raising event on Sat. July 7th in the Upper Deck, come along to find out who will be crowned The Rare Tulip 2018, it will be a night of fun, laughter, music & dancing at this alternative beauty and talent contest. Crossmolina 2-17 Moy Davitts 1-12

Crossmolina had a comfortable win over Moy Davitts in this Michael Walsh Cup tie at Tiernans Park on Sunday of last week. Crossmolina dominated the opening quarter with points from J.P.Mulhern Kevin Mulhern and a goal and point from Mickie Loftus before Oisin McHugh pointed for the visitors in the 15 minuet Brian Heneghan slotted home a penalty minutes later J.P.Mulhern Fionan Duffy tacked on string points and just before the break Brian Heneghan reduced the lead with three points to leave the half time score 1-9 to 1-4 Fionan Duffy and Liam Byrne exchanged points Mark Regan and J.P.Byrne raised white flags before Conor Rowland grabbed his sides second goal to restore his sides dominance  Liam Byrne Mark Regan and J.P. Byrne pointed for Moy Davitts. Killocraun NS.

On Sat June 30th at 1pm Bishop John Fleming will celebrate mass in Killocraun NS to mark 120 years of the school.

Following mass a day of fun events for all is guaranteed. There will be music and drama by current and past pupils. Registers, roll books and photos will be on display and refreshments will be served on the day. 

Later that evening in Cawley’s of Rakestreet music will be provided by the Sweeney Macs. Past pupils and teachers, neighbours and friends are all invited to celebrate this special day. We are looking forward to meeting you all on the 30th

Festival News. 

The festival will launch their "Summer Family Fun" brochure on Sunday next after 11:30am mass. The brochure will have all the details on family events in Crossmolina during July & August including the Homecoming Festival, Summer Camps, North Mayo Heritage Centre, Crossmolina Show, Enniscoe Vintage Day etc. Next Sunday's mass will be a special family mass to celebrate the World Meeting Of Families. 

Tickets are on sale now for a Hair and Beauty Masterclass taking place during the festival and the first 40 tickets sold will receive a free Moroccan Oil Hamper Pack, tickets are priced at €5 and available at Heather Lynott Hairdressing.

Congratulation to Crossmolina National School who won the Division 2 Boys Cumann Na mBunscol final in a thrilling game in McHale on Thursday last against a very gallant The Quay NS Westport. The Late Bridget Cartwright

The death occurred peacefully on Thursday 24th May at the Riverview Nursing Home Ballina of Bridget Cartwright nee Lynn Knockalegan Crossmolina and formerly of Wallington Surry England. Her remains reposed ay Hiney’s Funeral Home on Sunday evening with removal to St Tiernans Church requiem mass on Monday with burial afterwards in Crossmolina Cemetery. Bridget was predeceased by her husband Cliff is survived by her daughter Wendy and son Christopher, daughter- in- law Margo, granddaughters Claire and Elaine, nieces, nephews, Brother Johnny The Boreen Crossmolina, sister Deanie Epson England, large circle of Cousins, relations and friends. May she rest in peace. 

 

Kilmurray Social.

On this coming Sunday evening 10th June  in Kilmurray Community centre with Music by Michael Cleary of T V Fame  commencing at 7pm admission €5. Come along meet and greet your friends. Refreshments served all are welcome.

The death occurred peacefully on Friday 18th May of Sean Judge Nanuet New York and formerly of Erris St Crossmolina. Requiem mass was celebrated in St Anthony’s Church on Friday 25th May Burial took place in Nanuet. Sean was predeceased by his wife Sheila is survived by his sons John, Patrick and Peter, daughters – in – law, grandchildren, brother Michael The Boreen sisters Noreen Griffin The Boreen and Maura Patten Donegal sisters – in- law, brothers – in – law, nieces, nephews,   Cousins, relations extended family and many friends. The death occurred peacefully on Thursday 17th May at University hospital Waterford of Alphonsus (Al) Corcoran Waterford and formerly of Ballina St Crossmolina. His remains reposed at Hineys Funeral Home on Saturday evening with removal to St Tiernans church burial on Sunday in Crossmolina Cemetery after requiem mass. Al was predeceased by his parents Alex and Bredge brother Benny, is survived by his sisters Annette and Dympna, brothers Charlie, Gerry, Connie, Alex and Peter, brothers – in – law, , sisters – in – law, nephews, nieces, Cousins, relations, extended family, friends and neighbours, May he rest in peace

Results from Ballinrobe Saturday 19th May. A great days golf with the Jordan family making up almost 50% of the golfers on the day and they were well represented in the list of prize winners. The Late Martin Leonard.

The death occurred peacefully on Thursday 17th May of Martin Leonard Cabragh Castlehill Ballina. His remains reposed at Leonards Funeral home Laherdane on Saturday evening with removal to St Tiernans church Crossmolina funeral mass on Sunday with burial afterwards in Kilmurray Cemetery. Martin, is survived by his wife Mary, sons Anthony, Ollie, Martin Joe and daughter Mary, son-in-law Gerry O'Hora, daughters-in-law Eileen, Helene and Tracey, grandchildren, relatives, neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace

Requiem mass on Saturday with burial afterwards in Cornamagh Cemetery. Bro Thomas was pre deceased by his parents Tom and Kathleen brother Jimmy, is survived by his Marist Confreres brothers, Michael, Tony, Niall and John,   sisters Marie, Anna, Karen, Evaun, aunt Bea, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandniece, grandnephew, relatives and many friends.
