The Late Mary Teresa Gallagher

The death occurred peacefully on Wednesday 25th January of Mary Teresa Munnelly nee Gallagher, Farramorgan Ballina formerly of Dooleeg Crossmolina at her son Muredach’s residence in Meelick Portlaoise. Her remains reposed at her residence with removal to McGowans Funeral Home Ballina with later removal to St Muredach’s Cathedral with burial on Sunday in Leigue Cemetery after requiem mass. Mary Teresa was predeceased by her husband Paddy is survived by her sons Muredach  (Portlaoise), P.J. (Athlone), daughters Marian Mulkerrin (Dublin), Geraldine Molloy (Celbridge) and Joan Parker (Glasson) daughters – in – law, sons – in – law, grandchildren, sister Margaret UK, sisters – in – law, brother – in – law, nephews, nieces, relations, extended family, friends and neighbour’s. May she rest in peace.

GAA National Club Draw 2017

The GAA through Croke Park have launched their Annual Club Draw for 2017. The National Club Draw with super prizes ranging from Opel Corsa Car to All Ireland Packages for both Hurling and football  with 14 prizes in total. Tickets cost €10 are available from any Crossmolina Club executive officer

Drama News

Crossmolina Drama Group will be staging their Annual play this year on Friday 17th Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th February in the Parish Hall. A night of side-splitting laughter and great craic guaranteed for all. More information to follow

The Annual General Meeting of Kilmurry Youths Soccer Club will take place on Friday next 10th Feb at 8 pm in Kilmurry Centre. Parents of children who will be playing this year are especially invited to attend.


The Late Richard F. Winters

The death occurred peacefully on Sunday 29th January at Corrandulla Nursing Home  of Richard F.Winters Muingerran Garranard P.O.Moygownagh. His remains reposed at Hiney’s Funeral Home on Wednesday evening with removal to St Cormac’s Church Moygownagh with burial on Thursday after requiem mass in Moygownagh Old Cemetery. Richard was predeceased by his sisters Mary, Evelyn Kearns Carrowkilleen, brothers Tony and Michael, is survived by his family Sean -Ballina, Anne Hegarty -Glencarly, Pearse - Philadelphia, Pauline Scollard -USA, Una Geraghty -USA, Sheila O'Malley -Shrataggla, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and Neighbours. May he rest in peace

Died in Leeds

The death occurred recently of Teresa Hardcastle nee Callaghan in Leeds and formerly of Knockbrack Castlehill Ballina. Burial took place in Leeds. Teresa is survived by her husband George, sons Shaun and Michael, daughters Susanne, Geraldine and Margaret,  daughters – in – law, sons – in - law grandchildren, sister Veronica McDonnell Kinard Crossmolina, Betty Moran Swinford and Ellie Tyrell London, nieces, nephews, relations, extended family, friends and neighbours.
