Crossmolina U16 team got their County League campaign off to a winning start with a hard earned 5 – 8 to 2 – 12 win over Bonniconlon at St Tiernans Park Crossmolina. Goals win matches and Crossmolina grabbed four in the opening half from Niall Coggins Conor Caden James Gill and Robert Murphy in between Jack Lawrence grabbed 1 – 1 and James Kelly a point Edward Gough with 4 points and Conor Caden one point had the home side in a comfortable 4 – 5 to 1 – 2 in front at the break. The Late Murd O’Boyle
The death occurred peacefully at the Moyridge Nursing home Ballina on Tuesday 4th April of Murd O’Boyle Mullenmore St Crossmolina and formerly of Mountcormac. His remains reposed at Hineys Funeral home on Wednesday evening with removal to St Tiernans church burial on Thursday in Crossmolina Cemetery after requiem. Murd was predeceased by his wife Anna Nee Butler is survived by his daughters Margaret Keenan Dublin, Jane Benner Dublin, Grainne McDonald Grange Sligo, Sarah O’Boyle Dublin, son’s – in- law, sisters – in – law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family friends and neighbours. May he rest in peace

Congratulation to the Mayo Badminton Association on running a very successful Ballina Juvenile Singles event this season. And well done to Ronan Connor Winner Boys "B" singles U 11, Zara Moyles runner up in the Girls u 11 "C" section and Eoin O'Boyle Winner U 13 Singles "B" and Jack Loftus runner up U 13 "B" event. Well done to all our underage players who played so well and did us proud. And special thanks to our coaches John Valerio, Jonathon Verry Pauline Coggins and David Collins. Many hands make light work. Also special congrats to James Gough who won Division 3 Connacht singles event held in Sligo. Our new beginner Jimmy McAndrew got to the semi final "B" section in U15 and also had a shot at the U17's, we have to say most improved newcomer this year and Tiocfaidh an la.
