Crossmolina Day Centre bingo will take place on Wednesday 26th February 2-4pm in The Civic Centre Mullenmore Street, Crossmolina. The Community bus will be available. Light refreshments will be served. All welcome.

 

Festival of Lights.

The Crossmolina Festival Group are finalising details for this year's Festival of Lights.  The festival will run from Friday March. 13th to Tuesday March. 17th with a line-up of events for families and children.  All events will be free with the highlight event, the "Electric Light Parade" taking place on Monday March 16th at 8pm, the change of date is to facilitate national TV schedules and again this year there will be special guests participating.  If you would like to take part please contact us now on 086 193 0714 / 087 187 1552 / 096 31801.  The Festival Group would like to thank everyone that contributed to the recent church gate collection, all funds will go towards the cost of hosting the Fun Free Family Festival of Lights.  Follow the festival on Facebook and Instagram @crossmolinafestival

Jonathon’s Award.

Well done to Jonathon Verry Crossmolina Badminton club coach who won the prestigious Meitheal Maigheo award with the superb Swinford Cycling team last Friday night in Dublin at the Annual Mayo people of the year awards at the Mayo Association Dublin Annual Dinner in Ballbridge Hotel Dublin. What a wonderful achievement for Jonathon and his team, we are delighted for all the cyclists who did a major cycle from Malin to Mizen, Lands End to John O’Groats and Lourdes to Knock. And all proceeds from theses events went to charities in our own areas. Many congratulations to all, you did us proud.

Pieta House New Increased Hours.

Pieta House provides counselling, therapy and support to individuals, couples, families and children who have been bereaved by suicide or feeling suicidal. Pieta House operate an outreach service from the Ballina Family Resource Centre on Tuesdays from 1pm to 5pm & on Wednesdays 9.00am to 1.00pm by apt only Contact: 09325586 to make an Appointment

 

Exercise for Women.

Exercise classes for women take place every Wednesday morning from 11.00 am to 12.00 noon in the Ballina Family Resource Centre, Ardnaree.  The group enjoy a chat and catch-up over a cup of tea/coffee after the exercise.  New members welcome.  Ring 096 75573 for more info.

 

Ballina FRC Parent & Toddler Group.

The Parent & Toddler group takes place every Thursday from 10.00am to 12.00 noon in the centre.  This group is open to all parents, Grandparents and childminders to come along with their child/children and meet new people over a cuppa and a chat.  Various activities take place and new members are always welcome. Lady’s Basketball. 

Crossmolina Tigers Lady’s Basketball team were edged out in a very exciting County U16 Sem-final in Crossmolina Sports on Thursday last by Ballina Pacers. It was only in the last quarter the visitors got on top and ran out winners by six points 41pts to 35 pts.  Crossmolina tigers panel was Ann Murphy, Saoirse O’Boyle, Rosin Walsh Leany Jordan Rebbeca Jordan, Ava Loftus, Meggan Sheridan, Sinead Walsh and Browyn McAndrew

Crossmolina Town Hall needs your support, A meeting will be held on this coming Wednesday night 19th Feb at 8.30pm to put a plan and a vision together for the future of the hall. All interested groups and organisations are asked to send a representative on the night    

 

The Late Christina Harding 

The death occurred peacefully on Friday 7th February of Mary Christina Harding nee Mangan Dooleeg Bellacorick Ballina. Her remains reposed at Hiney’s Funeral Home on Monday evening with removal to the Church of Our Lady of Mercy Eskeragh. Requiem mass on Tuesday. Cremation at a later date. Mary Christina was predeceased by her parents Thady and Mary Mangan brother John is survived by her husband Michael, sons Michael and David, grandchildren Zoe, Isabel, Keira and Felix, brothers Thady, Tom, Martin and Peter daughters – in – law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours. May she rest in peace.

The Late Kathleen Lynn 

The death occurred peacefully on Sunday 9th February at the District Hospital Ballina of Kathleen Lynn nee Ruane Lord Edwards St Ballina and formerly of Ballymonean Enniscrone Co Sligo. Her remains reposed at McGowan’s Funeral Home Ballina on Tuesday Evening with removal to St Patricks Church Ballina. Requiem mass on Wednesday with burial afterwards in Crossmolina Cemetery. Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Tom formerly of Rathbane Crossmolina, and her brother Leo, is survived by her brother Michael England, sister Aggie Flynn Ballymonean, sisters – in – law Mary and Kathleen, brother – in – law Frank Lynn Crossmolina, nieces, nephews, relations, neighbours, and friends. May she rest in peace

The death occurred peacefully on Tuesday 11th February of Bridie Blaine nee Bourke Mullenmore Crossmolina. Her remains reposed at Hineys Funeral home on Wednesday evening. Requiem mass on Thursday in St Tiernans Church with burial afterwards in Crossmolina Cemetery. Bridie was predeceased by her husband Jim is survived by her daughter Trena, son-in-law Martin, grandchildren Karen and Stephen, sister Mary Maher (Galway), nephew, nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours. May she Rest in Peace.

Mindspace Outreach Service in Ballina FRC

Mindspace Mayo offers a support service to young people (15-25yrs) presenting with anything from common concerns (e.g. dealing with break-up, exam stress, bullying) to young people with emerging mental health difficulties such as mild depression and anxiety.  The outreach service will run one day a week (Monday) and is based in the Ballina Family Resource Centre. Patricia, beloved wife of Tony, sister of Kathleen, Peter, Geraldine and Jackie. Doing a Clear Out – Clothes Recycling

If you are clearing out your home please drop the clothes, shoes, bags etc into the Ballina Family Resource Centre, Abbey Street, Ardnaree. We are doing a Cash for Clobber as a Fundraiser for the Centre, your support would be greatly appreciated.  If you need bags we have some in the centre, just drop in and collect them. Dance Memory Club for people living with dementia and their carers - chat, dance, sing, observe (all welcome)

Crossmolina Day Centre in association with Community Action on Dementia in Mayo are holding an information and expression of interest meeting on Thursday, 6th February 2020 at 8.00pm in the Civic Centre, Crossmolina. This is a dementia specific light touch service, meaning the person with dementia will attend this social club with a plus one (spouse, friend, paid carer etc.)

Families, carers or anyone interested in finding out more please attend. 

The club will require the support from the community from Volunteers - full training and support will be provided to anyone willing to support this new service. 

 

Kilmurry Sport and Social Club AGM

The Annual General Meeting of Kilmurry Sport and Social Centre will take place this Tuesday at 9pm. The Centre provides facilities for all ages of people from Crossmolina parish and surrounding areas. Please show your interest and support by attending this AGM.

The late Mary Doyle

The death occurred peacefully on Wednesday 22nd February of Mary Doyle Erris St Crossmolina. Her remains reposed at Hineys Funeral Home on Friday evening with removal to St Tiernans Church. Requiem Mass on Saturday with burial afterwards in Crossmolina Cemetery. Mary is survived by her loving nieces, Anna-Marie, Eileen, Nora, Anne and Olivia, nephews, Tommy, Joseph, John and Kieran, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. May she rest in Peace
