The Late Pat Lillis

It was with great sadness that we learned today of the death of Pat Lillis, one of our key players in Ballina Stephenites Badminton club who led us to win our first Connacht championship title in 1981. Pat was a great competitor and was a driving force behind our Mayo championship and league title wins from 1981-83. Pat taught in Foxford at this time and was a very popular friend to all who knew her. Always ready for a new challenge she set off for America and settled in East Hampton where she set up an animal shelter for strays and she was kept very busy indeed. She had been in poor health in recent years, may she now rest in peace. Thank you Pat for the good times we all shared. You are greatly missed by all. Rest in peace, dear friend.
