There was no winner of Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club Lotto Jackpot Saturday night 2nd October. The numbers drawn were 23 – 26 – 30 – 31 one ticket matched numbers Paul and Orla Loftus Creevy Castlehill Ballina. They won €150 each.  This week's Jackpot is €14,850. Crossmolina 1 – 14 Ardnaree 1 – 9

Crossmolina and Ardnaree served up an exciting North Mayo U16 Championship game at Sean Duffy Park on Tuesday last Michael Sweeny and Alan Parsons opened the host account with points each James Maheady Jack Naughton Kyle Gallagher found the range for the visitors with points each. Michael Sweeny replied with two points Billy Loftus pointed and Joseph Gill tacked another before Crossmolina  struck a purple patch in the second  quarter  with points from  Richie Shelly Jack Naughton James O’Boyle Kyle Gallagher Matthew  Williams and Adam Mills to open up a five points advantage coming up to half time which was reduce to two when Tiernan Tighe grabbed a goal to leave the half time score 0 – 10 to 1 – 5 In the second half James Maheady  kicked over two points  which were cancelled out with like scores from Michael Sweeney and Alan Parson Jack Naughton and Joseph Gill traded points Before Billy Loftus scored his sides goal  after  a number  previous goal attempts were brilliantly stopped the Ardnaree goalkeeper and James Maheady tacked on another point to leave five points separating the sides after a very entertaining game played good conditions after all the rain in the previous days

Development Draw Winners

Congratulation to John and Teresa Moyles Ballina Rd Crossmolina, and Teresa McNulty St Patricks Ave Crossmolina  who won €200 each in the Mayo Club Development Draw which was hosted by the Shrule-Glencorrib  GAA Club in their Club House on Saturday week. Crossmolina 4 – 10 Knockmore 2 – 8 

Crossmolina scored a convincing win away to Knockmore in the North Mayo U14 Championship. The first half was played in terrible conditions with very heavy rain which cleared after half time Crossmolina built up a 1 – 10 to 1 – 4 at the break goal and four points from Kobe McDonald and a string of points from Joey Keane Oisin Deane Luke Williams Ethan Reilly, with Tom Ruane replying with a point Declan Breslin three and James Brogan goal that was as good as it got for the hosts Oisin Deane Luke Maloney grabbed goals each the same players tacked on points as did Dylan Flynn. Joey Keane tacked on 1 – 1 the last quarter. Knockmore’s Ryan Gaughan Tom Ruane pointed and James Brogan added on a goal and point to leave the Deel-siders well in control in the end. Crossmolina got off to a flying start in this North Mayo U16 Championship tie in Tallagh on Tuesday last with the aid of driving rain and wind with goals from Jack Naughton and James O’Boyle by half time the hosts had raised two green flags from Cian Walsh and Paddy Conroy and just a point separated the sides 2 – 4 to 2 – 3 in favour of the Deel-Siders. Both sides added on six points each in the second Half from Jack Naughton Richie Shelly James Maheady for Crossmolina with Anthony Barrett Paddy Conroy Jack Heffernan Liam Gilbert and James Lavelle keeping the hosts score board ticking over for a fair result in the conditions. Crossmolina U16 team got off to a winning start in the North Mayo Championship at Tiernans Park on Tuesday last. With goals either side of the first water break from James Maheady and Diarmuid Fox to lead half time 2 – 6 to 0 – 5 Sean Walsh with two points and a goal from Alan Lavin kept the visitors scoreboard ticking but James Maheady and Jack Naughton were doing likewise for the Deel-Siders. The last quarter James Maheady drove over three points and Sean Walsh raised a white flag for the Sea siders to leave Crossmolina five points winners after a well contested game. Girls U12 Division 1 Final 

McHale/Rovers 3 – 4 Westport 1 – 6

McHale/Rovers capture the Girls U12 Division 1 after a hard earned battle in wet conditions in Moy Davitts Park Foxford on Wednesday last. Westport held the upper hand up until the first water break with Katie Hughes grabbing a goal and point and Tara Macken added a point to leave them 1 – 2 to no score and it would be more were it not for the stout defending of the McHale/Rovers Natalie Kearns and Ally Gallagher. Their was a marked improvement in the Deel-Siders work rate all over the park  and Niamh Hegarty gave her side the boost they needed with a goal just after the break and Nia Barret tacked on another goal before Katie Hughes and Amy Doherty exchanged points to leave the half time score 2 – 1 to 1 – 2 Katie Hughes and Niamh Hegarty  swopped points before Amy Doherty free kick flew into the to left hand corner of the net for the crucial score Katie Hughes reduced the lead to four points at the second water break. As the game entered the closing stages both sides added two points each Nia Barret and Amy Doherty for McHale/Rovers and Westport’s top scorer Katie Hughes. Both sides defences were strong and a number of players were in line for the Girl of the match in the end Amy Doherty McHale/Rovers was adjudged the recipient

Crossmolina second team over came a stiff challenge form Neighbours  Moygownagh in the Mayo league Division 5B tie at Tiernans Park on Sunday week. Moygownagh lead at Half time 2 -3 to 0 - 5 with goals from Sean Mulligan and Alan Carolan. A James Gill goal in the third quarter brought Crossmolina right back into game. It still took a string of points from Gerard Haran Robert Murphy and Conor Rowland after the second water break to secure the points. U14 North Mayo Championship

Crossmolina 10 – 17 Ballina 6 – 4

Crossmolina had a very comfortable win in the opening round of the North Mayo U14 Championship in James Stephen Park on Thursday last. A four goal burst in the second quarter from  Luke Maloney Kobe McDonald and two from Tom Gough laid the foundation for this success Niall Peoples raised a green flag for hosts. Crossmolina continued their scoring spree through the second half in fairness The Stephenites scored five goals from Oisin McCann Jerome Nevin and Jack O’Brien scored a brace each. Congratulations to Crossmolina U19 Team and Management on winning the County Division 3 title with a five point’s win over. The Neale in Kiltmagh on Wednesday last. See report in the sports section

This was a much better performance from Crossmolina for 45 minutes in this league tie in Louisburgh on Saturday week. With a string of points from Dean Loftus Tom Cafferty Fionan Duffy Cathal Carolan and Conor Rowland they clawed their way back to tie the second water break 1 – 10 each. The host who had moved Padraic O’Malley from full back to partner Padraic  Prendergast was the real turning point they scored nine  points of their sides total over the hour and they out scored Crossmolina six points to one from the Boot of Fionan Duffy in the last quarter to run out deserving winners in the end  J.
