Lotto Results

There was no winner of the Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club Lotto jackpot on Saturday night 14th January. The numbers drawn were 2 – 3 – 27 – 31 no punter matched three numbers either and six tickets were drawn. Padraig Cawley Tintean, Castlehill.  Gerard Jordan St Mary’s Park, Crossmolin. GAA National Club Draw 2017

The GAA Through Croke Park have launched their Annual Club Draw for 2017. The National Club Draw with super prizes ranging from Opel Corsa Car to All Ireland Packages for both Hurling and football  with 14 prizes in total. Tickets cost €10 are available from any Crossmolina Club executive officer.

The Late Bridget Curran

The death occurred peacefully on Thursday 12th January at her residence of Bridget Curran nee Cosgrove Ballymachola Crossmolina. Her remains reposed at  Hineys Funeral Home on Saturday evening with removal to the church of the Holy Rosary Cooneal burial on Sunday in Lisheen Cemetery after requiem Mass. Bridget was predeceased by her husband Martin is survived by her daughters Maureen Ballymachola, Carmel Flynn Dublin, Virginia McCafferty Ballina, Patricia O’Boyle Ballymachola, Beatrice O’Boyle Toereen Crossmolina,  sons – in – law, brothers Frank Leeds, Michael Knockfree, sister Sarah Lynott Rosserk Killala, Mary Ruane Wigan,  sisters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours. May she rest in peace

Crossmolina Drama Group will be staging their Annual play this year on Friday 17th Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th February in the Parish Hall. A night of side-splitting laughter and great craic guaranteed for all. More information to follow

The Late Tony Keane

The death occurred peacefully on Tuesday 17th January at Mayo University Hospital of Tony Keane Lowvally Crossmolina. His remains reposed at Lynn’s Funeral Home Killala on Wednesday evening with removal to the church of the Holy Rosary, Cooneal  burial on Thursday in Lisheen Cemetery after requiem mass Tony was predeceased by his wife Liz is survived his loving Family ; Geraldine ( Lynott, Kilucan ), Sean, ( Crossmolina ), Anthony ( Cloona ), Breda ( Gallagher, Dooleeg ), Pauline, ( Lowvalley ), Padraig, ( Lowvalley ), Siobhan ( Kilrehill, Templeboy ), and Bernie, ( Ryan, Lowvalley ); his grandchildren, his sister Sr Barbara, ( Little Order of Mary Dublin) sister in law, brothers in law, sons in law, daughters – in – law. nephews, niece, relatives, friends and neighbours. May he rest in peace.




Pioneer Dance

Mid-Killala Regional Pioneer Dinner Dance will be held in Hiney's Upper Deck on Friday 10th of February. Music by Michael S Toger. The Late Evelyn Kearns.

The death occurred peacefully on Friday 6th January at her residence of Evelyn Kearns nee Winters Carrowkilleen Upper Crossmolina. Her remains reposed at Hiney’s Funeral Home on Saturday evening. Removal from her residence on Sunday morning for requiem mass in St Tiernans Church with burial afterwards  in Crossmolina Cemetery. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Johnny, is survived by her sons Brendan Craughwell Galway, Joseph Oranmore Galway, John Carrowkilleen, daughters Mary Clare Owens Celbridge Co Kildare, Noreen Howley  Erris St Crossmolina, Helena Carrowkilleen, grandchildren, brothers, Richie Tuam, Pierce Philadelphia USA, Sean Ballina,Sisters, Pauline Scollard  and Una Geraghty Both Chicago, Sheila O’Malley Porturlin, Ann Hegarty Belderg, sisters – in – law, brothers – in – law, nephews, nieces, relatives, extended family, friends and neighbours, May she rest in peace. 




Community Bus

The Community Bus is used extensively with two regular routes into Crossmolina every Friday from the Moygownagh and Keenagh areas as well as for regular social outings  both locally and to Fr Peyton Centre, Knock and other venues. This service is used mainly for the elderly of the area but its use is not confined. However the use of the bus is limited by the number of hours the driver can work each week. The Community Council are seeking Voluntary drivers for occasional outings both for the elderly and for other groups/organisations in the area who may need additional transport. If you have a licence to drive a bus with a capacity of 14 people and wish to find out more contact the Crossmolina Community Council offices at 096 30935  

Deel-Rovers Club

The Annual Crossmolina Deel-Rovers Club awards were presented at the club social in The Thatch Bar on Tuesday night last with the following the recipients P.J.Loftus Hall of Fame, Damien Lavin Club man Appreciation Award, Carmel Prior Club Lady Appreciation award Peadar Gardiner Senior Footballer of the year,  David Howley Junior player of the year and Darragh McCormack U21 player of the year.

The Late Noreen Loftus

The death occurred peacefully on Thursday 22nd December in her 89th year at the Blackrock Nursing Home Foxford of Noreen Loftus nee Lavin The Old Post Office Crossmolina and formerly of Kiltmagh. Her remains reposed at Hiney’s Funeral Home on Thursday evening with removal to St Tiernans church with burial on Friday in Crossmolina Cemetery after requiem Mass Noreen was pre-deceased by her husband Paddy is survived by her family, many friends and very good neighbours. May she rest in peace.
