The Late Josephine Moran 

The death occurred peacefully at Mayo University Hospital Castlebar on Saturday 25th March of Josephine (Josie) Moran Abbeytown Crossmolina. Her remains reposed at Hineys Funeral Home on Tuesday evening with removal to St Tiernans Church. Requiem mass on Wednesday with burial afterwards in Kilmurray Cemetery. Josephine was pre-deceased by her husband Dominic, daughter Margaret Gardiner Rathnamagh, is survived by her Son Michael Kinlough Leitrim, Daughters Ann Goodwin Ballina, Gerldine Boland Coventry, Patricia Cawley Rakestreet, sister Margaret Flannery Beltra Castlebar, brother Padraic Coventry, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sons - in - law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours. May she rest in peace. 


GAA News 

Crossmolina Senior Football team have been drawn against Ardnaree in Sean Duffy Park in the Sweeney Cup 1st round and are at home to Belmullet in round 2. In the North Mayo Junior Championship Crossmolina are at home to Killala in the preliminary round and the winners are away to Ballycroy in the Quarter finals

Crossmolina U16 team suffered a five points defeat against Ardmoy/McHales in the opening round of the County League at Fr Michael Gilroy Park on Tuesday evening last goals early in both halves from Patrick Kelly set the hosts on their way to a comfortable win Adam Langan kept the Deel-Siders score board ticking over and John Tolan was called on to make at least four goal bound saves. Final score 2 – 9 to 0 – 10

The Late Patrick Walsh

The death occurred peacefully on Monday 27th March at St Augustine Nursing Home Ballina of Patrick Walsh Childers Heights Ballina and formerly of Keenagh. His remains reposed at McGowans Funeral home Ballina on Wednesday evening with removal to St Patricks Church Ballina funeral mass on Thursday with burial afterwards in Kilmurray cemetery. Patrick is survived by his wife Ann, sons P.J. and Declan, daughters Susan, Mary and Patricia, brothers Mikie, Mattie, John Josie, Bernard, and Anthony, sisters Mary Bridget Judge Killasser Swinford and Annie Teresa Naughton Letterbrick Keenagh, grandchildren Lauren, Joshua, Nathan, Liya and Taylor, nieces, nephews, relations, extended family friends and neighbours. May he rest in peace .

Crossmolina Shed Opening

Crossmolina men's shed will have their official opening at the Boreen beside car park on Friday 7th April at 7 pm. All are welcome but due to insurance restrictions children are not allowed on premises. Light refreshments will be served. Support would be appreciated

This was a very entertaining County U14 League tie between Crossmolina and Kilmeena at St Tiernans Park on Thursday of last week with the sides evenly matched  in the opening 20 minuets only two points separated the sides until Gaols from Diarmuid Coggins and Jonathan Murtagh gave the Deel-Siders a 2 – 10 to 1 – 3 advantage Kilmeena came back after the break with two quick goals from Ben Lennon and Ciaran Kilcoyne that was as good as it got for the visitors a string of goals from Luke Rowland James Williams and Daniel Lynch and Kilmeena’s Evan O’Donnell did grab a consolation goal  to leave Crossmolina comfortable winner by  7 – 12 to 4 - 8

Festival News

The Late Michael Brogan 

The death occurred peacefully on Sunday 19th March at Mayo University Hospital Castlebar after brief illness of Michael (Mickie) Brogan Springfield Castlebar. His remains reposed at Caody’s Funeral Home Castlebar on Tuesday evening with removal to St Tiernans Church Crossmolina with burial on Wednesday in Crossmolina Cemetery after requiem mass. Michael was in his ninety ninetieth year was pre-deceased by his wife Maud (nee Gallagher), deeply mourned by his loving nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace 



Died in Westmeath 

The death has occurred peacefully and suddenly on Thursday, March 16th of Norah Granahan (née Corcoran), Gillardstown, Collinstown, Co. Westmeath, and late of Keenagh Beg and Coolnabinna, Boughadoon, Ballina, Co. Mayo; Her remains reposed at Midland Regional Hospital Mortuary, Mullingar on Saturday evening with removal to St Marys Church Collinstown funeral mass on Sunday with burial afterwards in Whitehall Cemetery. Norah was predeceased by her husband J.P. is survived by her family Vincent, Claire, Brendan, Sean, Peter, Colette and Barbara.  sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, sisters Ann O'Flaherty Islandeady and Breege Mannion Ballyheane Castlebar, brother-in-law Tommie, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Community Services Programme - Wed 22nd March 2017

Under the Community Services programme, Crossmolina Community Development provides a range of Services for Seniors and others within the Community.

We are currently drawing up the Spring /Summer work programme.

 The range of services provided is as follows:

 Painting outside and inside of houses , Maintaining gardens for Seniors-Lawns, hedges, tree trimming ,Replacing light bulbs, alarm batteries etc.

There is a small per hour charge for this service.
